LINCOLN PARK — Two folks had been injured, together with a firefighter, after a fireplace broke out early Friday morning close to Cafe Brauer on the Lincoln Park Zoo, fireplace officers stated.
The fireplace was reported at 4:20 a.m. at Cafe Brauer, 2021 N. Stockton Drive, stated Hearth Division spokesman Larry Langford.
The fireplace broken a shed used to retailer propane tanks, Langford stated.
The fireplace seems to have been attributable to a person that police suspect was attempting to remain heat within the chilly climate, Langford stated. Police are investigating the incident.
“Police interviewed an individual that was on scene as they carried out a prison investigation,” Langford stated. “One of many propane tanks was turned on however there was no explosion.”
A firefighter sustained minor accidents whereas battling the fireplace, Langford stated. A 46-year-old man had a “medical concern” and was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Middle.
Neither harm was burn-related.
The fireplace didn’t trigger injury to Cafe Brauer or hurt any zoo animals, Langford confirmed.
