Chicago-area storms result in heavy flooding, road closures – NBC Chicago


Storms slammed various Chicago suburbs Monday night, dumping a number of inches of rain and inflicting flooding all through the area.

Throughout the realm, various roads, streets and underpasses have been closed, with many closures reported within the southwest suburbs and northwest Indiana.

Flood warnings have been issued for parts of DeKalb, Kane, Kendall and LaSalle counties, with the Nationwide Climate Service saying flooding might happen in poor drainage and concrete areas.

The NWS stated three to eight inches of rainfall have been reported throughout the realm, with the best quantities close to Interstate 80. Extra flooding was doable within the in a single day hours, with meteorologists warning of heavy thunderstorms with rainfall charges of two to a few inches per hour in some areas.
