LOS ANGELES — California Gov. Gavin Newsom stated the state is suing the Trump administration, claiming President Donald Trump illegally federalized the Nationwide Guard to confront protesters in Los Angeles.
The clashes between protesters and regulation enforcement “is precisely what Donald Trump wished,” Newsom wrote on social media Monday morning.
“He flamed the fires and illegally acted to federalize the Nationwide Guard,” Newsom stated. “The order he signed does not simply apply to CA. It would enable him to enter ANY STATE and do the identical factor. We’re suing him.”
Roughly 300 California Nationwide Guard members arrived in Los Angeles over the weekend as immigration protests intensified.
Trump stated he had licensed 2,000 members to deploy if wanted. The president can be leaving the opportunity of sending the Marines open.

That is the primary time a president has taken management of a state’s Nationwide Guard with no request from its governor in 60 years.
Throughout these demonstrations, at the least three officers have been injured and greater than 50 individuals arrested.
