Boat crashes into Brooklyn Bridge, masts fall off, a number of injured

A Mexican Navy ship crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge Saturday night time, knocking off its masts and apparently sending passengers into the water, in accordance with the New York Put up and a number of movies posted to social media.

What we all know:

Video reveals the big sailboat, with two towering masts and a waving Mexican flag, plowing into the bridge, as shocked onlookers are heard screaming, “oh my god.” 

A search and rescue operation is underway, in accordance with stories.

The backstory:

The boat is reportedly the Mexican Navy ship Cuauhtémoc, which sailed into New York Harbor earlier this week, in accordance with the New York Put up.

The Cuauhtémoc, with its 147-foot mast, was meant to journey again to New York in July 2026 for the Sail4th occasion celebrating America’s 250th birthday.

“The vessel, in-built Spain in 1982 with the only goal of coaching cadets, is predicted to be certainly one of 30 Class A Worldwide Tall Ships that can parade via the Harbor on July 4, 2026,” the Put up reported.

The backstory:

Particulars surrounding the incident weren’t instantly clear.
