Suspect on the run after trying to rob man inspecting Joliet house: police

A suspect is on the run after trying to rob a person at gunpoint whereas he was inspecting a house for potential buy Sunday afternoon in Joliet.

The incident occurred at 4:30 p.m. within the 100 block of Iowa Avenue.

Police responded to stories of photographs fired and an tried theft. The suspect, described as a person in his early 20s, 6 ft tall, sporting all black clothes and armed with a handgun, fled the scene, authorities mentioned.

The sufferer informed police he was inspecting a residence to probably renovate and buy when the suspect approached him.

The suspect supplied to hire the property from the sufferer if he purchased it. The sufferer then agreed to let the suspect tour the house.
