CHICAGO — A lightweight coating of snow pushed alongside by heavy winds may make for a difficult night commute Wednesday — and a really chilly evening in Chicago.
Round 3 p.m. Wednesday a “band of snow” coming off of a low-pressure system over the Higher Nice Lakes will hit town for about an hour, mentioned Kevin Birk, a meteorologist with the Nationwide Climate Service.
The fast-moving snowstorm will depart “some coatings right here and there” and perhaps a half inch on the bottom, if that, Birk mentioned.
It’ll be instantly adopted by wind gusts that might attain as excessive as 60 mph by late afternoon, Birk mentioned.
