Video exhibits federal agent shoot Chicago pastor in head with pepper ball throughout Broadview ICE protest


A video exhibits a federal agent firing pepper balls at protesters outdoors the ICE processing heart within the Chicago suburb of Broadview final month, putting a Chicago pastor within the head.

What we all know:

The footage, captured by Kelly Hayes by way of Storyful, exhibits protesters standing outdoors the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility shouting towards three brokers stationed on the roof.

One of many brokers begins firing pepper balls and certainly one of them hits Pastor David Black of the First Presbyterian Church within the Woodlawn neighborhood. Black then falls to the bottom as others come to his help.

Hayes instructed Storyful she had been on the protest solely minutes when she noticed Black get hit. In a publish on Bluesky, she stated Black was OK.

The incident comes amid heightened federal immigration enforcement within the Chicago space beneath President Donald Trump, which has led to every day and generally tense demonstrations outdoors the Broadview facility.

The American Civil Liberties Union stated in a press release on Monday that Black and others are looking for an emergency courtroom order to halt what they describe as “unlawful and brutal suppression” of their free speech rights.

Storyful stated it reached out to Black for remark however had not heard again.
