Florida man charged after killing, consuming 2 pet peacocks

HUDSON, Fla. (WFLA) — A person in Florida is going through a felony animal cruelty cost after police say he killed and ate two of his pet peacocks, then wrote his neighbor a letter about it.

An affidavit from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned that Craig Vogt, a 61-year-old from Hudson, was in a dispute together with his neighbor, who he mentioned stored feeding his peacocks. The neighbor referred to as the police when Vogt left a letter in her mailbox saying he had killed and eaten two of them.

He threatened to proceed killing and consuming them if she continued feeding them.

Vogt later confirmed the story to the responding officer, saying he slit the chook’s throat and cooked it in a frying pan. Whereas being taken to jail, he mentioned that when he was launched, he deliberate on killing all of his pet peacocks to forestall anybody from taking custody of them, the affidavit mentioned.

He was arrested on Sept. 23 and charged with aggravated animal cruelty leading to extreme ache or loss of life.
