CHICAGO (WLS) — The spring working season in Chicago formally kicked off on Sunday with the forty fourth Financial institution of America Shamrock Shuffle.
“Hey good mornin’ to ya,” stated runner Melanie Pozdol. “It is identical to the primary spring race. You by no means actually know what the climate goes to be. Everybody in Chicago, all of the totally different run golf equipment come out.”

The annual custom continued the town’s celebrations for St. Patrick’s Day.
“Everyone is happy. You recognize, it is the beginning of a brand new season and it is enjoyable. Lots of people, nice folks,” stated runner Miriusz Ligska.
The run stepped off from Grant Park at 8:30 a.m.
Runners had been handled to a scenic 8K-run via downtown or a 2-mile stroll that took athletes alongside the town’s lakefront.

Some like Chicago’s Jose Serrano ran the Shamrock Shuffle for the very first time.
“So enjoyable, truthfully. Fast race. Everyone seems to be in inexperienced, some costumes. It is wonderful,” Serrano stated.
Organizers say round 28,000 runners laced up their sneakers for this 12 months’s race.
